MISSION-DRIVEN
Geelong Disability Services was established by husband and wife team, Donna and Ray Witnish.
Having lived, supported and cared for real life experiences with both physical and mental illness, GDS was created to help provide the type of reliable competent service/s they would expect and be happy to receive.
With this as Donna and Ray’s goal, combined with the knowledge and the real life personal experiences, they set out, to become fully qualified Support Workers obtaining knowledge of all the Disability Standards along with other legal & OHS requirements that go along with providing services to the public.

An official Geelong NDIS registered provider, National Disability Insurance Scheme, Service Provider in 2015 and a registered Disability Service Provider with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission.

It is important to remember that everyone – able bodied or not – requires help at some point.
As Donna has lived with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for over 30 years, and Ray being the primary carer for his father-in-law suffering from Motor Neuron Disease (MND), and having both lived and supported their daughter’s mental illness, GDS was truly created from the experiences of, by, and for people with disabilities.
We’re truly a peer-led organisation – the majority of our staff either have a disability or a significant lived experience (i.e. mother of a child with a disability). This ensures we keep a person-centred approach and deliver quality supports.
This approach has certainly been appreciated and recognised by the NDIS participants who have chosen GDS as their provider of choice.
