Agency Management

With the “Agency Management” the NDIA look after all the bills but restrict your choice of provider or services to registered providers only.

Self Management

With the “Self Managed Plan” you get to choose the provider and services you use but then have to look after all the financial management side of your plan.

Plan Management

The “Plan Management” provides the best of both worlds, it lets you choose the providers and services you want and still have the financial side looked after by registered plan managers who are answerable you and the NDIA.

Plan Management is the best of both worlds

The best thing about plan management is that you get to choose whoever you wish to provide services to you.

Yes. Plan Management is available to all NDIS participants – you just need to ask for it at your next planning meeting.

When plan management is included in your NDIS plan it is at no cost to you, extra funding is allocated under the Improved Life Choices capacity building category.

The best thing about plan management is that you get to choose whoever you wish to provide services to you. As long as the service fits into your funded support categories and is under the price limit for that support you can choose it and that is the end of it.

You do not have to worry about how the provider is paid as the plan manager will look after all the bills and invoices.

In addition to paying your providers on a timely basis, we help participants and carers navigate their NDIS path.

In GDS can assist you with advising you on how you can use your NDIS plan, including:

  • Helping you work out whether and how your objectives can fit with your NDIS plan
  • Keeping you up to date with the spending in your NDIS plan
  • Offering helpful tips and tools if you’re considering using a private support worker
  • Offering suggestions for potential providers (where we can)
  • Being available to talk with you and meet with you

We also offer free Portal Training for all our participants and their nominees so you can see how your plan is working.

Most parents, carers or participants never really get shown how to use their own NDIA portal to view what is actually happening with their funding.

This is such an important part of being a participant to the scheme and have choice and control over what is happening within your plan. Simple steps on viewing your budget will help you have a better understanding what is going on with funds being allocated and spent.

Prepare for NDIS plan reviews at scheduled reviews or at other times should your support needs change.

HOW IT WORKS

The Process

1

Initial Contact and Communication

Upon receiving a request for Plan Management, we promptly reach out to the participant/guardian.

Offer the option of either an in-person meeting at our office or sending the necessary paperwork digitally.

Request a copy of the plan to be emailed for review.

2

In-person Meeting or Paperwork Distribution

If the participant / guardian makes a choice of coming in we make a mutual time so that we can go through everything in the plan with them.

In some cases, especially when this is a first plan the participant does not really understand their plans so this is a great opportunity to go through the plan with the participant / guardian and explain what the plan and different categories mean.

3

Setup and System Integration

Once all the required paperwork is signed, proceed to set up the participant’s information in our system.

Send an email to the participant/guardian informing them that everything is set up and ready to go.

Attach essential documents such as the Plan Management Welcome letter, Plan Management Provider letter, and a copy of the Client Handbook for their reference.

4

Finalize and Confirmation

Confirm that the participant/guardian has received the email and the attached documents.

Provide any additional instructions or contact information for ongoing communication and support.

Ensure that the participant/guardian is well-informed and ready to begin utilizing the Plan Management services.
